There are two ways of achieving 3D motion using wire systems.

BridleBridle

Firstly you can control the y and z axis of the motion using a two way wire system, while controlling the x axis of the motion by tracking the wires along horizontal tracks.

The second method is to use a four wire system. Here the combined tensions and lengths of the wires are varied to achieve dynamic control of the three dimensions of movement.

BridleBridle usage

The software controlling the specialised winches allows the user to design a complex path between start and end positions for the payload. This path can then be graphically manipulated and fully simulated while viewing the move from a number of camera angles.

Bridle for filmIn the film industry this system can be used to control cameras to get amazing tracking shots and camera angles, all without having to alter or remove parts of the set.

For the all action film the system could fly the actors around. Combine the two - flying actor and flying camera - and you'll achieve truly amazing live effects.

The system also lends itself to product placement, flying scale models, trade shows and live theatre. For example, at pop concerts get your acts to literally take off and fly around the concert venue - all safely controlled by the advanced motion software.
